After having my birthday in 4 different countries which was very exciting!! We finally reached our destination and we were exhausted.. mum and dad very excited and pleased to see us. We were pleased to lie down in a bed! The next morning we pulled ourselves together ready to go explore Venice. Venice was lovely you were able to walk, and wander for miles get lost and just explore the shops I bought a survoneir from Venice a nice pink mask which everyone loves to make fun of as you can imagine. Getting around Venice you either went by foot or caught Venice version of a bus which was a boat. Which at times became quite claustrophobic, we unsure what their limits were on the boat because they managed to squeeze so many people on! After our 3 nights in Venice we then headed Guibio which we thought was a 5 minute drive from fabriano.. oh well! Guibbio was great a medieval village very small roads and lots little side streets we were quite happy to stumble across this beaut! We set out for a walk to the top of the hill, which ended up being a never ending walk to the top!! By the time we reached the top we were sweaty hot and bothered.. our way down was literally a bird cage which didn't stop to let you in or stop to let you out! Which was a bit nerve racking but a good laugh!! mum and dad were not in sight so we presumed they cheated and caught the bird cage up much to our amazement mum walked up and took photos to prove it ha ha! We all then met back at the hotel and made our way to fabriano to find Ada, which was a wee mission for the morans as none of us are so good with italian and we have a crap phrase book to help us! We finally found Adas apartment was lovely to meet her she was a very sweet lady with the softest hands you will ever touch! Ada was very frustrated because she had so much to say and could not speak English and us no italian fortunately maria was there to translate and help! After leaving adas we went to go and meet her son enslow.. unfortunately he was to busy, so we made our way back and to find somewhere to eat..once again the food was a hit and run me making the only wise choice and sticking to pizza, dad and lisl chose a terrible seat menu and hugely disappointed owell!! We then made our way to rome and stayed in the suburbs in ciampino which everyone seem to remind mum of our rundown the area looked, her choice of course!! we unpacked and put all our things into rooms and headed to train station which was a 5 min walk from hotel, we made our way to Rome and wandered aimlessly till we found where were and decided we all needed something to eat and stumbled across Mcdonalds which sounded a fairly good idea to us all what a good look tourists all the way from New Zealand eating Mcdonalds! We had been warned to clutch on to our bags the whole time, but you really didn't feel as if anyone would actually pinch ur bag or cut underneath as a man told us, but I guess its better to be safe than sorry. We walked down peering into every single shop, lots shoes handbags and beautiful leather jackets. Unfortunately with it being Sunday places were closed, we went to the The Pantheon which was beautiful made you think how on earth they could build it all and do everything without the machinery we have today. We walked along to some fountains which quite pretty with the statues all round them, made our way home tired as we were at end of each day, sian and dad went back the next morning to the Vatican Mussee. Mum lisl and I decided that we would just have a sleep in, much to lisls disappointment the breakfast was fairly average and not enough for her!On our way to our next destination, we came across 2 motorbike accidents, to our amazement the traffic was all still flowing and we had to pull over in tight spot to let ambulance through which was very tight indeed! You saw everything happening there was no covering up or anything dad claims that he saw the paddles go on his chest and he twitched, we are little bit suss about that still! We carried on towards San Gimignano, which was the centre of Tuscany which was a beautiful we were meant to be there for just 2 nights but we decided 3 nights would be a better idea as we wanted to explore there sienna and Florence which were only a 30min drive, well sienna was spose to be fortunately mum put in a destination which led us off in opposite direction with the trip taking 2 and half hours instead, you can now imagine us all in the car.. we arrived and had a good look around walking an looking, was lovely, we came across a nice restaurant and decided we'd try it out, as our luck with food still hadn't been soo good! Turns out it was great we all enjoyed it apart from lisl, who thought hers was fishy! Florence was by far the favourite hit with shopping! Mum dad and sian all went inside a big museum The duomo didn't pay much attention to that one as lisl and I decided we just wanted to go have a look round and browse at the shops, with everything being Gucci, Prado Louis vutton all the expensive brands but it was still nice even just to to some window shopping. We then met back up with the others, and headed to market, with sian and a sharing a bag it was becoming increasingly annoying specially considering it was her bloody pack and you have to burrow through it just to find a bra or undies, they had been hassling me to buy with sian but I refused!! Sian ended buying quite a nice bag similar to my one from Thailand and it was cheaper!!! Lisl then bought a leather jacket dad then went to show mum his one he liked and after lots of ooing and arring, finally he got it and sian had decided by then at that stage she was getting one 2! We left mum to have a proper look in market and went and had a drink at a Irish bar, sat there awhile and eventually decided we had better go find the Mumma, we waited for half an hour in spot she was supposed to be no sign, all had turns looking then she showed up with her purchases where she had gone into a shop and said “dress me” and came away with georgeous outfit, the lady had told her beautiful body but terrible clothes, to the ones she was wearing! We started to make our way back walking down another, market where I purchased my jacket I found the man to be a bit grumpy and didn't budge a lot on his price, but I was happy it was a pretty good price! We then headed down a bit further and came across a rather good salesmen who had found out that we were from NEW ZEALAND... oh brother, before we new he had dad in a jacket and was taking us down to his shop he had made a jacket for Doug howlett and went on about how big his muscles were! After about half and hour of talking he had convinced dad to get the jacket but I think he had him convinced from start! It had become quite late at this stage and we had gone a different way soo we were a bit confused where we were, finally we found where the buses were luckily making and catching the last one for the day phew! Poor old dad had to walk all way back to get car and come pick us lazy girls up! Next morning we were setting off to tellaro, along the way we stopped in Pisa, we take a look at leaning tower first person to spot it got free lunch, dad spotted it first, it amazing up close, definitely leans! Unfortunately the line was 2 hours waiting to go up so we flagged it and headed to our destination which was stunning! Our hotel right on the beach just a walk down the stairs and you were at the beach, it was 28degrees hot! Between us girls we decided that we wanted an extra night there! We set out to find somewhere good for dinner and came across a seafood place, which seemed amazing and delish, but no way, octopus with all there tenticals intact was not my idea of good food and I managed to down some of it, poor lisl couldn't even look at it, I made up for it with my rich dessert which was literally just chocolate! The bill was horrendous dad had terrible sleep with full belly and I was up all night on toilet not good at all!! soo the girls and I decided just to have a nice relaxing day at the beach and read our books which was great lovely and relaxing we all went for a swim it was very refreshing but as warm as the water would get in NZ during its summer! For dinner we made a good choice yaye!! Mind you we all stuck to pizza so really we couldn't go wrong! We woke next morning set out for nice and mum had put in different places so we could see the scenary but it was smoggy and we went through about 100 tunnels soo u couldnt see a hell of a lot, but they still continued to banter at me because I was reading my book instead of looking out the window, I bit my tongue for as long as I could and tried not to retalliate, eventually I did, thankgod we were finally there before any heads were chewed off! We are now in nice south of France is a great little beachy area which is just lovely! The girls and I wandered along the beach and decided it was time for a drink and cocktails were sounding good sian ordered margurita, lisl a mai tai and myself which I thought sounded rather nice a fruit punch which ended up being disgusting so incredibly alcoholic I had to block my nose while drinking it to get it down and then work myself back up 2 it.. we then tried some more and decided better head back and see what ma an pa were up 2.. it was then time for dinner and we chose a rather delicious place and had a great meal! Tad expensive but ohwell we are on holiday!! We had bit of sleep in this morn not leaving the hotel not til 10:30 in morn.. we spent the day walking towards the old part of the town, before we knew it, it was 3pm in arvo lunchtime, sian dad and mum went to a different restaurant to lisl and I an had salads where as we went towrds nachoes and wraps, dammit bad choice corn chips with whole lot of melted ccheddar cheese! Making our way back to hotel we stopped in a bikini shop where mum purchased some new summer toggies, she wasnt very willing to show us what they looked like.. everyone has gone again to explore but me and dad.. early night tonight I think just cheese and crackers for tea and what ever else sian and lisl purchase at supermarket. Tomorrow we are off to Carnes where film festivals are and redcarpet photos take place, ooh lala.
